I randomly decided I wanted bangs and I called Jhovannas Hair Salon and they were able to get me in the same day. I discussed with the hairstylist what kind of bangs would best go with my features and we decided on curtain bangs and a hair trim. By far the best haircut and amazing service I’ve ever received. I am so happy with my hair and I feel more confident.

I went here exactly a week after I had gone to another salon to get a perm but was told my hair was too damaged and wouldn’t take a perm. I was feeling dejected because my hair is so flat and lifeless without one. Jhovanna herself had actually picked up the phone and she was so sweet and reassuring on the phone that I felt encouraged. She ended up giving me a perm and I love it so much! The perm she gave me has plenty of body around my crown area, which is where my hair needs the most body. Most importantly, my hair didn’t fall out, nor did it look destroyed, as I had feared. While I was there, everyone of the staff also helped, with Jhovanna being in charge and doing most of the work. Samantha only did one step but she was very nice. Jorge checked me in and washed out the perm solution. He is so sweet, gentle, funny and just an amazing person! The process took about 2.5 hours and also love the diversity of their clients: families and many men, both of which I don’t often see in salons. The facility had plenty of parking, was beautiful and very clean inside. Don’t forget to tip Jorge separately! Jhovanna is a wonderful person and so good at what she does! I will definitely be back.

Jhovanna is AMAZING!! It has taken me 60 years to actually find someone to cut and style my curly hair properly!! She also took the time to explain to me how to style my hair at home. I will definitely be back!

I have been going to Jhovannas Hair Salon for five (5) years. I find the stylist to be very high end. She is a master at hait coloring and I get compliments on my hair all the time! I am very satisfied with the results and continue to go to Jhovanna's as she is a master at her craft ?

I get so many compliments regarding my cut and color from Jhovanna! I carry her card in my wallet because perfect strangers will ask me where I get my hair done. Jhovanna is fantastic about listening to what you want--having a picture is always best though--and doing her best to help you attain that look. She is also always upfront about coloring processes and will work with "fashion colors" for my 13 year old as well as sticking to more conservative looks for me. I recommend her to all my family and friends. Her prices are pretty typical of any high end salon in the NoVa area.

This was a really disappointing experience, especially after searching for so long to find a curly hair salon! Jhovanna did not seem more specialized in curly hair than any other salon I've been to. I was really excited, but Jhovanna was rather rude and my hair turned out just okay. It was the coloring that is the reason for my disappointment though. I'm not sure if or when she was ever trained in doing hair, but the color ended up splotchy. It looked like an amateur did it. Heck, I could have done a better job myself. I had to go to another salon to fix it. I'd give her zero stars if I could.

Curly heads rejoice! You have found the salon you've been looking for! Jhovanna is a MASTER with my 2C/3A curly hair. I have been many times and always walk out so pleased with how reinvigorated my hair looks after a curly cut. Jhovanna is friendly and communicative, and I would recommend her to anyone looking for a curly cut.
